The Best Biohacking Books for Taking Control of your Health

The Best Biohacking Books to Optimize your Health

I love what biohacking has brought to my life, especially as a busy mother!

It was really through reading biohacking books that I learned about this new approach to health!

If you’re new to the concept, biohacking is all about optimizing your health (hacking your biology) with super efficient strategies! I like to summarize it this way:

“Less junk, more fuel, deep rest, smart stress.”

I can’t tell you how much simpler my approach to health is now, and how dramatic the results have been!

Biohacking has been a very rewarding journey for me. But I had to learn new things that I had never heard of before, and start practicing them.

Have you ever heard this quote?

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

Charlie “Tremendous” Jones

If you’re looking to take your health to the next level, I can’t recommend these biohacking books enough! They will teach you new information, and that knowledge will hype you up when the going gets tough!

Best Biohacking Books

Two Meals a Day by Mark Sisson

I always say this book is poorly titled when I recommend it. I learned SO much more than just “two meals a day!”

Mark Sisson isn’t usually referred to as a biohacker, but this book is chock full of great information on amazing biohacks!

His book helped me master intermittent fasting, optimize sleep, and cut out the junk—without feeling deprived.

When me and my husband followed the book’s dietary recommendations strictly for just one month, we each lost 15 pounds! More than that, we felt incredible—more energy, better sleep, and zero food cravings.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️The power of intermittent fasting (without feeling hungry all day)

✔️A simple guide on what to eat and what to avoid

✔️How to optimize sleep, stress, and exercise for peak health

✔️Why metabolic flexibility is the key to effortless fat-burning

✔️How to ditch sugar cravings and free yourself from food addiction

If I could recommend one book in this post, this would be it. I’ve never read a more straightforward, sustainable way to pursue health. Two Meals a Day was a game-changer for me!

Fast Like a Girl by Dr. Mindy Pelz

Fasting is one of the ultimate biohacks!

I don’t agree with everything in Dr. Mindy Pelz’s Fast Like a Girl, but I learned a lot—especially about insulin, sugar, and how metabolism actually works.

She breaks down fasting in a way that finally made sense to me, showing how different fasting lengths trigger different benefits and, most importantly, how women can tailor fasting to their unique biology.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, she explains how to cycle fasting with hormonal changes, making it more effective and sustainable.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️How insulin, sugar, and metabolism actually work

✔️The benefits of different fasting lengths (from 12 hours to multi-day fasts)

✔️How to sync fasting with your cycle for better results

✔️Why fasting can help with hormonal balance, brain health, and longevity

✔️Practical tips for making fasting easy and sustainable

If you’re a woman curious about fasting but don’t know where to start, Fast Like a Girl is a great resource. It’s not just about weight loss—it’s about understanding your body and using fasting as a tool for lifelong health.

Work Smarter Not Harder by Dave Asprey

Now the man himself! Dave Asprey is probably the most well known biohacker since he coined the term.

In Dave Asprey’s “Smarter Not Harder” he teaches how to hack your biology to get more done in less time, with less effort.

Asprey dives into how our brains and bodies actually work, showing that small, strategic changes can dramatically boost energy, focus, and performance. It’s not about working less—it’s about working better, using science-backed techniques to make everything feel easier.

What You’ll Learn:

✔️ Minimal Effective Dose (MED) Exercise

✔️ AI driven fitness

✔️ Neurofeedback

✔️ Breathwork & Cold Therapy

✔️ Red light Therapy & Vibration Therapy

✔️ …and more!

This book is pretty fascinating! It will definitely help you expand past the foundational biohacks into more unusual territory!
